Dogs Needing Homes
Many of these dogs are on death row. If you can move them to a place of safety please contact the shelter as soon as you can.
The Delta Humane Society of Louisiana Rayville, LA 71269
The Delta Humane Society operates in the North Louisiana delta area, one of the poorest areas in the nation. There is no other 501c3 animal rescue operating in this area so we are the only resource for unwanted animals. Our efforts are focused on intaking animals in neglectful or harmful situations and restoring their health, both physical and mental so that they can be adopted or tranported to one of our partner rescues in other areas of the country. There, they have a much increased chance for adoption. We average having over 125 animals in foster including dogs, cats, horses and farm animals. We do all of this without a facility or any help from municipal sources.
Click here to see the dogs in need of homes. The first step of adopting a dog is to fill out
adoption application form. Completing an application does not obligates you to adopt but gives us a better chance of making sure the match will be a good one. As a part of reviewing your application, we will speak with both your personal and veterinary references.
